Bongolo Missionaries- Christmas 2009

December 13th the Bongolo Hospital Missionaries got together for Christmas cookies and a photo shoot. It was the only day that everyone was present at the same time so the photo could be taken!

Vacation Bible School

During Prayer Retreat in February the Missionary Kids had Vacation Bible School.

Visitors from the States held VBS for the Kids while the adults were in “meetings”.

The kids enjoyed stories, crafts and games. The last day of Prayer Retreat they put on a little skit for their parents and missionary “Aunts and Uncles”.

Prayer Retreat 2009

Pray Retreat- singing

Each year we missionaries have a Prayer Retreat and this year our retreat was held at the end of February. Our guest speaker was Pastor Jonathan Schaeffer from Ohio. He gave a series of messages and we prayed together for various personal and ministry needs.

This year we had a farewell for Arnie and Cheryl Solvig and their three daughters as well as Jeroen and Romy Van der Rijst. Their two children are already grown and away from Gabon. We are saddened to see our friends move away but send them off with our blessings and prayers for their future ministries.

Nicole's Baptism

A highlight of Retreat was attending the Baptismal service for Nicole Solvig.

We also have fun during Retreat and really enjoyed playing board games, swimming, and just being together. Many adults and children braved jumping from the bridge into the Louetsi River. This jump is becoming a “tradition” for some!

Field Forum 2008

field-forum-2008

Each August the Gabon missionaries hold a Field Forum which is like Family Camp! In recent years the Field Forum has been held at a hotel in Lambarene, Gabon but this year the hotel will not be available. Those attending the 2008 Field Forum are pictured in this photo.

Pray that the team will find an available, financially feasible location to hold the August 2010 Field Forum. The hotel where we have gone for many years is being renovated.
