Bongolo Hospital
To see God glorified as people are healed, saved, equipped, and sent.
Who We Are
Deep in the rainforest of Gabon, Africa, Bongolo Hospital serves over 25,000 patients a year. Each of those patients hears the good news of Christ. Thousands have accepted that call!
Mission
To see God glorified as people are healed, saved, equipped, and sent. We work with Christ to reach the lost in Gabon, by providing compassionate, professional medical care to all in need, and equipping Christian medical professionals to extend this vision to all of Africa.
At Bongolo, we offer quality health care to a population who desperately needs it. To continue the good work the Lord is doing in the rainforest, we need your support through prayer, finances, and service.
HISTORY
Bongolo Hospital
Expanding on a twenty-year-old nursing dispensary, Bongolo Hospital was established in 1977, when a surgeon and two nurses arrived. A nursing school was started shortly thereafter and is still running strong.
Today, the 158-bed hospital near the rural town of Lebamba includes Surgery, Anesthesia, Medicine, Maternity, Pediatrics, and Emergency departments, as well as one of the busiest eye-clinics in Gabon. Some additional services include our HIV, TB, and dental clinics as well as laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy.
The full-time medical team now includes a multicultural blend of missionary and local staff as well as a number of trainees that are undergoing preparation for a lifetime of service. We all seek to be united to fulfill our mission and vision.
